Aprilia RS125 Bike Overview
If you’re of, ahem, ‘a certain age’, then the words ‘Aprilia RS125’ will mean a mad screaming two-stroke mini-GP machine, with a strangled 12bhp power output, that’s easily de-restricted to put out nearer 30bhp (once you pass your test of course!).
But in the modern world, the RS125 is, sadly, a more sedate four-stroke learner machine, with a modest 15bhp power output and no easy ‘de-restriction’. Call this progress?
Ignoring the legal aspects, the little RS is a very nice way to spend your A1 licence years. The motor does its best under the circumstances, with decent torque and progressive drive, while a Magneti Marelli fuel injection setup means smooth throttle response and super low consumption (75mpg+ is easy to see).
The chassis can be as sporty as it likes of course, so it’s good to see that Aprilia has kept the good stuff here – a proper aluminium beam frame, asymmetrical swingarm, 41mm USD forks and a sweet monoshock. Brakes are Brembo, with a 300mm disc and radial mount four-piston caliper up front, and a single-piston caliper out back – and you get a proper Bosch 9.1 ABS system too. Nice.
Tyre sizes are suitably sporty too – 100/80 17 front and 130/70 17 rear, so you can get quality sporty rubber on the rims.

Best it’s myn no negatives at all.
Nothing at all
It’s a sports bike so not so comfortable for tall riders or long trips

Cheap and efficient.
Shes the perfect starting bike and acts more like a 250 but shes 2 stroker and temperamental diva she just likes being looked after and reward is worth it.
Electrics and access is tricky to some of adjusters.
Handle bar obvious position for racing may hurt some peoples' wrists.
Aprilia are good parts and built well although the electrics are tricky.
