Suzuki DR125 Overview
They say everybody has to start somewhere and if you are looking to purchase your first bike then the Suzuki DR125 is a great option. It’s as straightforward as they come with a quality four stroke, single cylinder engine which is ideal for getting your feet off the ground. The DR125 isn’t the type of bike you would take to the race track but if you need a decent learner bike which has been well made, is easy to ride and teaches you how to handle yourself on the road then you are onto a winner here.
Interestingly, however, the Suzuki DR125 bikes are no longer in production meaning the only way to buy is on the used market. There aren’t many around either so they do tend to hold their value but you can purchase a second hand bike and be confident that as long as it has a full service history, then you are getting a great deal on the ideal learner bike.
What you get with your DR125 is fairly minimal; the brakes, suspension, body and technology are reliable but basic although there are a number of modifications which can be made fairly effortlessly to the DR125 to create the type of bike you are after. That said, when you are just starting out you really need a bike which can be ridden and which acquits itself well both on and off road and the DR125 fits the bill for this type of bike. You might not get a whole host of bells and whistles but this is something which can be looked at in the future, once you’ve got a good grasp on riding out on the open road.

Truly is bulletproof engine.. will run for years on end!
The brakes need to be wavey discs from stock, then I wouldn't have any complaints.
Brakes aren't bad but could be improved by changing pads and getting wavey discs
