Essex Air Ambulance Motorcycle Run 2016 Summary

Published: September 13, 2016

Launched in 1999, Essex Air Ambulance celebrated their 17th Motorcycle Run this Sunday and it was the best one to date.

With over 2,500 motorcyclists pre-registered before the event took place, the number of bikers taking part in the run continued to rise on Sunday morning as the sun shone over Essex.

All the fun began over at Dunton before the 60 mile ride to Harwich Green, as everyone prepared themselves for the ride ahead with live stunt show, MotoGP memorabilia and so much more.

Bold Dogs Freestyle Motocross team, stars of Britain’s Got Talent, performed three epic stunt shows to kick start the 17th EAA motorcycle run, and riders were also given the chance to see a display of leathers worn by world champion MotoGP riders Jorge Lorenzo, Stefan Bradl, Leon Haslam and Massimilliano ‘Max’ Biaggi.

Just before 11am, with over 3,000 bikers registered and ready to go, the ride out began heading towards Harwich Green for an afternoon of live music and entertainment!

The show was in full swing come lunch at Harwich with the bikers arriving and parking up before heading to bask in the glorious sunshine on the sea front.

There were plenty of stands exhibiting for the day including BikeSafe providing information on training and bike safety, local dealers and plenty of entertainment for the kids. Devitt were in the heart of the action giving out lots of goodies to those who attended the show.

Even the Essex Air Ambulance helicopter made a flying appearance just to remind everyone how important and valued their support is!

The fun didn’t stop there, Devitt donated 3x £500 J & S Accessories gift vouchers to three lucky winners who pre-registered for the event.

It was predicted by the end of the day that over 5,000 motorcyclists had attended the event, smashing last year’s record!

We can’t wait to attend the 18th Essex Air Ambulance Motorcycle Run next year, but for now check out our gallery…
