Commonly compared to the Honda Blackbird or Suzuki Hayabusa, the Kawasaki ZX-12R is what you can expect from a classic sports tourer.
With 180mph in the tank, it’s more than enough for this beast although Kawasaki did decide to edit the fuel injection a few years after its first release in 2000 to give that extra edge. ZX-12R can’t be faulted for its excellent handling; the brakes were improved to be radial-equipped in for 2004 models onwards.
Of course living up to the tourer part of its name, the ZX-12R is roomy enough to carry two-up, however there’s no grab rail for a passenger so make sure you’re holding on tight.
