Norton Motorcycle Company, based in the heart of racing at Donington Park, began their motorcycling journey in 1898 when British founder James Lansdowne Norton supplying parts for both motorcycles and bicycles. In 1908, the very first Norton engine was born.
By the 1930’s Norton were producing nearly 4,000 motorbikes annually, stamping their infamous logo with pride. Norton was also at the heart of British racing with a phenomenal ten Isle of Man TT race wins between the World Wars.
The emphasis was soon taken enough racing when Norton became a supplier of British military motorbikes during the Second World War.
