Fast
Bikes Virgin R6 Competition
The winner of the Fast Bikes Virgin R6 competition was drawn recently
and Rob Evans from the Marketing team attended the prize hand-over
at Fast Bikes headquarters in Bath to congratulate the lucky winner
- Mr Ian Smith. Unfortunately, at the last minute Ian was unable
to attend, so Rob didn't get the chance to congratulate him in person.
However, both Rob and Ian had the pleasure of meeting the Fast Bikes
team and Ian was delighted to pick up his prize ... eventually!
NEC
Bike Show Yamaha R6 Prize Draw
The lucky winner of Devitt's NEC prize draw for a 2006 Yamaha R6
plus a year's free insurance was Craig Cowan from Reading. Craig

Craig was surprised and delighted to have been chosen and was really
excited as he rode the bike away. Well done Craig!
Motorcycle Makeover Competition Winners
Last
year Devitt launched a nationwide competition to find two of the
UK’s bikers in most need of a style makeover.
The competition was simple: to find two bikers – one male,
one female – who’ve found they’ve lost touch with
the latest look and styles for bikers and are stuck in something
of a rut.
The prize was a biker-style makeover by a professional stylist,
whose job was to create two contemporary new looks for the hapless
motorcyclists, whilst ensuring they were as safe as possible in
their new gear.
Once all the entries were in, the judges deliberated – or
whatever it is judges do – and the winners chosen. They were
Andy Dyks from Irthlingborough, Northants and Julie Hanks-Elliott
from Erdington, Birmingham.
The
two were asked to explain why they felt they should be given the
free makeover. Andy said “Having just resurrected my old Honda
SS50 from Mum’s shed after 24 years of rusting, I've now regained
the biking bug. Being somewhat larger in stature than I was at 16
I've also just bought an Honda VTR1000 Firestorm and as such need
to get suitably kitted out.” Julie’s entry was equally
touching – and very poetic:
“My helmet is old as you can see.
My leathers don't even fit me.
My racing days have took their toll.
I would like some new ones to replace the old.
I beg you please pimp me today.
And I will be shouting hip hip hooray.”
Devitt’s Managing Director William Hughes said that he was
delighted to be able to help Andy and Julie on the road back to
stylish biking. “I saw their pictures,” he laughed.
“Neither of them were at the cutting edge of biker fashion
but were certainly not beyond our designer’s help.”
