Royal Enfield Motorcycle Overview

Read about the history of Royal Enfield...

Royal Enfield has a rich history dating back 1893 when they were called the Enfield Manufacturing Company Ltd and made bicycles. As with many long-standing motorcycle manufacturers, Royal Enfield’s popularity grew around the World Wars, providing military motorcycles during the wars and a cost-effective mode of transport afterwards.

Royal Enfield’s production was moved to India in 1955 and started making the chopper-style Bullet; initially parts were imported from the UK but by 1962 all components were manufactured in India and the original company dissolved in 1971 with Enfield of India having the rights to use the Royal Enfield brand.

Royal Enfield is the longest standing motorcycle company in the world and their flagship ‘Bullet’ motorcycle model is the longest standing production run of any motorcycle, since 1932!

It is known for its classic / chopper like style, a versatile machine with great handling and performance. Bullet models include the Bullet 350, Bullet Machismo 350, Bullet Machismo 500, Bullet Electra 5S and the Bullet Electra Twinspark.

So if you’re looking to insure your Royal Enfield, Devitt have been in insuring UK bikers for over 80 years so you’re in safe and reliable hands.
