A guide to Husqvarna Motorcycles

History of Husqvarna

Although the Husqvarna brand has been around since 1696, it wasn’t until 1896 that they began manufacturing anything that resembled a bike. Originally formed on the King of Swedens demand for a weapon factory, which was founded in Huskvarna (you’ll never guess where they got the name from!), and later went on to produce sewing machines and other machinery.

1903 saw the birth of the very first motorised bicycle, but a good thirty years of fine tuning before the birth of the Husqvarna motorcycle, and in the early 1930’s Husqvarna was making waves in the racing world. Post-war and motocross became extremely popular in Europe, it wasn’t long until Husqvarna really found their niche, and it’s pretty much been the same ever since.

Change in ownership for Husqvarna

1987 earmarked a big change for Husqvarna as they were acquired by Caviga, an Italian manufacturer which subsequently became part of the MV Agusta group. However, managers and engineers of Husqvarna refused to move to Italy to continue the production of the motorcycle range. In the end, a new ventured named Husaberg AB was founded but it wasn’t long before KTM took over in 1995. That wasn’t the last move for the manufacturer who were purchased by BMW in 2007, then over to Pierer Industrie AG in 2013 before finally finding its way back home to KTM AG – this then led to the termination of the Husaberg brand.

Husqvarna are renown in the motorcycling world for their impressive range of motocross and enduro bikes. The distinct yellow, white and blue colours make them stand out from the crowd, even when covered in mud!

How can I save money on my Husqvarna Motorcycle Insurance?

There are plenty of ways to save money on your Husqvarna Motorcycle Insurance including using layers of security – this is a great way of saving money on your policy. So if you’ve got access to a garage, then make sure your bike is secured with a ground anchor and chain. Or even opt for an immobilier and a cover can do the trick too.

The amount of miles you do – this is key for making sure your bike is correctly insured. If it’s your daily commuter then your mileage will be higher but if it’s just your casual Sunday ride out during the sunnier month then go lower and you’ll find yourself some savings!
