Yamaha XSR700 Bike Overview
The Yamaha XSR700 is based on the MT-07 with some cosmetic modifications, which is perfectly fine as the base machine is a fabulous bike.
The redesigning has added to the attractiveness of the machine and made it more popular with a larger audience of those who have an interest in retro styled machines.
The bike scores highly on a number of parameters including looks, performance and handling and comes at a very good price.
Its base, the MT-07, was acclaimed for its even distribution of power and responsive torque, factors that form an integral part of the XSR.
Its power output of 74bhp is satisfactory for undulating roads in the countryside, while its power distribution in the midrange is great for curvy mountainous terrain.
Its brilliantly smooth engine, good throttle response and relatively light weight make it a dream to handle. It rides well both with amateurs and seasoned riders.
Its calliper braking system works spot on at high speeds and the bike comes with standard ABS (an improvement over the MT-07).
The suspensions are similar to the MT-07 with an adjustable option at the rear and fixed suspension at the front. Although the suspensions do have a rather soft feel, it does not impact the handling in any way.
In terms of quality the bike is durable with no major issues just like the MT-07. The engine is reliable and performs optimally in a variety of weather conditions and over all kinds of surfaces.

Lightweight. Responsive. Fast. Revs high and can be pushed. Engine deceleration is plentiful and painful at points. Feels like you have to be 'on it' if pushed hard.
Less than 700cc but powerful and sharp. Accelerates and growls (with an akrapovic exhaust) and stays lively.
Parts available for customization. Ride height.

Pros
