You can add classic motorbikes to your multibike insurance, as well as mix and match with modern motorcycles. We will tailor a multi bike insurance policy to suit your requirements, pick up the phone and speak to us about multi motorcycle insurance today.
What are the benefits of multi bike insurance?
Having all of your bikes on one policy comes with a good few benefits! You only have one renewal date to remember, one set of paperwork, one interaction about your bike insurance per year and we all like less life admin!
You also have the ability to use one set of No Claim Discount on all of your bikes, you also then get extra discount for the fact that you can’t ride all the bikes at once…
So save money and time with multi bike insurance!
How does Multi Bike Insurance work?
Your multi bike cover is charged at the premium of your more expensive motorbike, then any additional motorcycles you add to this policy are charged at a discounted rate. So having a multi-bike policy could possibly save you hundreds of pounds.
For example, you own two bikes: one costs £300 to insure and the other costs £299 to insure. You’ll be charged for the more expensive motorbike premium of £300, but your other motorbike will now no longer cost you anything like £299 as it will have a substantial multi bike discount.
Therefore, having multiple bikes on one policy could help you reduce your combined bike insurance dramatically.
The logic behind this is often based on the fact that you can’t ride two bikes at the same time, therefore your ‘road risk’ is reduced on the second bike.
This is why you cannot add a second rider to a multi-bike policy, as then two people could be riding both bikes at the same time and your ‘road risk’ is increased.
However, this would not be reflected in the total insurance premium, which is much lower for the second bike.
Can I have additional riders on my Multibike Insurance?
Unfortunately, with a traditional multi bike policy you can’t have additional riders; this is because the rationale for the cheap insurance is due to the fact that you can’t ride all of the bikes at the same time!
There are ways around this though, so please pick up the phone to us on 0345 872 3614 and we will do our best to provide the multi bike policy you need at our best rate.
Can I add a bike after my policy has started?
As a broker we have some insurers on our panel that don’t do multi-bike policies. If you want to add a bike and you are currently with an insurer that doesn’t allow them, we would have to cancel your policy and look at placing you with an insurer that does multi-bike insurance.
If you are already on a multi-bike policy, you can to call us at any point to add a bike or swap a bike, taking into account there may be a change in premiums depending on the bike you are adding / swapping. We may not be able to insure every bike if the terms don’t meet the insurers requirements, so try to speak to us before you make any changes and we can help you choose the best way to insure your bikes.
Is Multi-Bike Insurance suitable for motorcycle collectors?
If you’re a motorcycle collector and you’re looking for a single insurance company to cover all of your bikes, speak to us today. With a traditional multi-bike policy we can put up to four bikes on one policy. However, if you have more than four bikes we can still help.
We can mirror your No Claims Discount across many bikes in order to cater for customers who own a large collection of bikes.
The most expensive bike will bear the brunt of the premium, with the less expensive bikes you add to your policy afterwards costing much smaller amounts, based on the premise that they’re not all being used at once.
Again, we advise bike collectors to contact us over the phone, so can ensure we get you our cheapest and best policy for all of your bikes; and refer to one of our underwriters if needs be.
