When you cancel an insurance policy before the end of its term, you will most likely be faced with having to pay a cancellation fee. These can vary depending on your insurer and can be most unwelcome.
At Devitt, we always try and do more for our customers! That’s why we are pleased to be able to refund any cancellation fees that you’ve had to pay on a Devitt policy if you take out another policy or return to us in the next 12 months.
How does it work?
If you cancel a policy through us, you will be charged a cancellation fee to cover admin costs, but if you then take out another policy directly with us (not through a comparison site) we will completely refund your cancellation fee! All you have to do is call us directly on 0345 872 3614 and speak to a member of our Customer Service Team.
This is transferable across our products including motorbike insurance, car insurance, van insurance and home insurance. So, if you cancel your bike insurance because you’ve sold your bike, and you’re going to start using a car, you can get your cancellation fee for bike insurance refunded when you take out car insurance.

This offer is valid between 04/03/2026 and 04/03/2027.
Terms and conditions of a refund following a cancellation of a policy whereby a fee is charged and a new policy incepted directly through us.
The cancellation refund is available to any customer of Devitt Insurance Services Ltd that has cancelled their motorcycle, car, van or home insurance policy mid-term and has paid the full cancellation fee.
The refund is to be redeemed within one year of cancelling their insurance policy against a new 12 month motorcycle, car, van or home policy purchased directly with Devitt Insurance Services Ltd. This offer is only available to customers purchasing a policy directly from Devitt Insurance Services Ltd and therefore will not apply to policies bought through price comparison websites, affiliates and affinity partners.
To qualify for the refund your new policy must have been in place for at least 30 days. After 30 days the cancellation refund will be made to the payment method used for the new policy. If you paid for your policy in full by card, the refund will be made to that original payment method. If you have paid by direct debit, your monthly payments will be adjusted.
The refund is only available by calling us and can only be redeemed against one insurance product, which must be taken out in the same name as the cancelled policy.
There is no cash alternative available and the discount cannot be used to off-set any outstanding amounts.
