Aprilia has just released this – a new GP Replica version of its gorgeous Aprilia RS125 learner-legal sportsbike, styled to look like the RS-GP25 machines of Moto GP world champion Jorge Martin and fellow factory rider Marco Bezzecchi.
It’s based on the standard RS125, but with a MotoGP replica paint job dominated by black with red and purple graphics, including the logos of all the Aprilia Racing team sponsors. The Noale firm has also added to the standard equipment, including the QuickShift electronic gearbox for rapid, precise gear changes and the single-seat cover for an even sportier look.
There’s also a bold matte black paint finish on the swingarm and frame, crafted from die-cast aluminium beams with cross-ribbed reinforcement – unique in the class nowadays (though it’s a hallmark of Aprilia’s 125cc sportsbikes for decades now).
The water-cooled, DOHC, four-valve, 124.2cc single cylinder engine’s been updated for 2025 too, with a new tune to match Euro 5+ emissions regs. It has a bore and stroke of 58x47mm, and makes the regulation maximum power for a learner bike: 15bhp (11kW) at 10,500rpm, with 11.4Nm of torque at 8,500rpm. Transmission has a wet clutch with six-speed gearbox.
The chassis is the coolest part of the mini-GP bike, based on a proper aluminium twin-spar main frame and swingarm, with 40mm USD front forks and rear monoshock, with 110mm front and 120mm rear wheel travel. Front brake is a single 300mm disc with a radial-mount four-piston J.Juan caliper, with a 218mm rear disc and single-piston caliper.
Perhaps moot is the Aprilia Traction Control system – which can be turned off – but the RS125 GP comes with a proper dual-channel ABS system, which will be useful for learner riders working out their braking skills. The fuel tank holds a decent 14.5 litres, and the wet weight is a skinny 144kg. You get full LED lighting too, and digital LCD dash with fuel gauge, clock and trip computer functions.
Price is a heady £5,380 – though that’s just £150 more than the standard bike which comes in white/red or black/yellow. More info: www.aprilia.com or from your nearest Aprilia UK dealer.
