Frank Melling

Frank Melling

Frank Melling started writing about bikes just after the Romans left Britain – about 2,000 years ago. His first article was for an American magazine whilst he was still a student. He soon became a full-time journalist, a full-time student and part time motorcycle dealer. He just skipped sleep, eating and socialising! He is considered to be one of the best test riders of his generation. By journalistic standards, he was a good international class racer winning events right across the board from trials to road racing – and everything in between. You’ll still find him on the track today. His racing has taken him all across Europe and America and his one regret is that he so nearly won his class at Daytona – but didn’t! They only count the winners at the chequered flag! He worked with, and is highly regarded by, World Champions and factory mechanics. Frank is a prolific writer with something in excess of 1700 feature articles, 38 books, film scripts and TV ads to his name. He writes both bike books and fiction: www.frankmelling.co.uk But at heart, he remains what he always was – your mate down the pub who loves bikes, telling you stories about motorcycles. He works, plays and lives with his best friend and wife Carol, and their six pet sheep, in rural Cheshire.
