The
Problem
- Vehicle-related crime costs the UK £3.5 billion a year,
of which motorcycle theft makes up a significant part. (Source:

- Stolen motorcycles are transported in vans or containers.
The Solution
- TRACKER Stolen Vehicle Recovery systems are operated by all
52 of the UK’s police forces.
- TRACKER Stolen Vehicle Recovery systems are based on VHF land
based radio technology.
- The VHF technology enables the police to track a stolen motorcycle
even if it is hidden in a van, garage or container.
Devitt can offer up to 10% discount on your insurance policy
if you have a Tracker device fitted.
The Facts
- TRACKER and the police recover over £3.5million worth
of stolen vehicles every month.
- To date, TRACKER is responsible for the recovery of over £355 million
worth of stolen vehicles.
- TRACKER systems operate in the UK, France and Spain.
How it Works
- When you notice that your motorcycle has been stolen, you notify
the police and TRACKER.
- On confirmation of the theft, TRACKER activates the unit which
will begin to emit a silent signal.
- The police, using VHF technology, can begin to track the stolen
motorcycle even if it’s being transported in a van or is
hidden in a garage or container.
- Once the vehicle has been located, TRACKER will arrange for
a uniformed guard to stay with the motorcycle until the recovery
company arrive to pick it up and deliver it anywhere in mainland
Great Britain.
