Sports bikes are fast, light and sleek, are designed for maximum performance and come complete with the latest in brake, tyre, engine and suspension technology.

Sports bikes typically have a fairing to reduce drag, a race replica look and limited pillion provision. They are distinguishable by their sleek aerodynamics, brightly coloured bodywork, the rider's 'racing crouch' seating position and are typically much smaller and lighter than cruisers.

Sports bikes provide unmatched handling and acceleration but have few concessions to comfort. The most popular classes of these bikes are the 600 cc and 1,000 cc machines, however, the many engine-sizes available often reflect the different professional and amateur racing classes which adhere to strict engine capacity rules.
