Saint Francis Hospice Charity Gets Boost From Devitt

Wednesday, 28 June 2006

Romford, 28th June 2006 - Romford-based motorcycle insurance broker Devitt has donated nearly £1,900 to Romford's Saint Francis Hospice following a fund raising day organised by staff from the firm's local branch aimed at raising money for the charity.

All staff took part in a range of fund raising events which included competitions, playing the X-Factor and even enjoying some wine tasting to help raise money for the hospice. As a result, the proceeds were presented today to Neville A Brown (Chairman of Saint Francis Hospice Development Trust) and the money will be used to help it to continue providing specialist care to local people who have cancer or other life-limiting illnesses.

Devitt Director (at the time) William Hughes said, "Saint Francis Hospice is very much part of the local community and we are delighted to support them in helping make a difference to those who are less fortunate than us. Our staff voted for this hospice as they felt that it provided such an invaluable service."

Over 350 staff are employed by Devitt which specialises in motorcycle insurance and also provides car and home insurance.
