Macmillan Cancer Support Charity Gets Boost From Devitt
Thursday, 15 June 2006
Romford, 15th June 2006 - Insurance broker Devitt has donated nearly £1,900 to the MacMillan Cancer Support charity, following a fund raising day organised by staff from the firm's Ipswich branch aimed at raising money for the charity.
All staff took part in a range of fund raising events which included fun runs, quizzes, competitions and raffles, the proceeds from which were presented to the Charity's Assistant Fund Raising Manager, Caroline Hepple. The money will be used to help the charity continue to improve the lives of people in the Suffolk area affected by cancer.
Devitt Director (at the time) William Hughes said, "MacMillan Cancer Support is very much part of the Suffolk community. We are delighted to support them in helping make a difference to those who are less fortunate than us. Our staff voted for this charity as they felt that it provided such an invaluable service."
Over 350 staff are employed by Devitt which specialises in motorcycle insurance and also provides car and home insurance.
