Devitt And Taylor Aim For Top Spot With Devitt Racing

Romford, February 20th 2006 – Leading motorcycle insurance broker Devitt is proud to announce that they are a major team sponsor in this year's Metzeler National Superstock Cup.

This is the first full year of Superstock for the race team known as 'Devitt Racing' and with its rider, Ben Taylor, their aim is to take the 2006 Cup.

Gifted Hornchurch-based 24-year-old, Ben Taylor, broke the Brands Hatch 400cc lap record in 2004; a record still viewed as impossible to better.

Devitt Head of Marketing, Chris Bottle, is looking forward to the 2006 racing season.

"Ben's move up the ladder of motorsport has been fantastic and we are delighted to be working with him" he said.

"In 2005, Ben made the step up from 400cc to the CBR1000RR Fireblade and we are impressed by the way he has adapted his style and attacked his many hours of testing and development with passion."

"The results were exactly what we had hoped for. Though he only entered a few select rounds, Ben finished the season as the highest placed Honda rider."

"This will be a very exciting year for Ben Taylor and Devitt Racing and we are very confident that there will be a lot of eyes on this gifted young man for this year's Cup."

Speaking about his new relationship with Devitt, Ben Taylor said:

"Building a career in motorsport is my greatest ambition, but it's an expensive and intensive one. That's why it's so good for me to have Devitt on board, providing me with support and encouragement really takes a lot of the strain off me."

"Devitt has a long association with motorcycles, and is local to where I live, which makes an ideal sponsor for me. What's also important is that it shares my love of motorcycles."

The Metzeler National Superstock Cup is a support series to the BSB British Superbike Championship.

The 2006 season kicks off at the Brands Hatch Indy on March 24-26, running through to Round 13 back at the Brands GP circuit on Sept 29.
