Devitt Sponsor Serv - The Blood Runners
Friday, 12 August 2005
Romford, August 11, 2005 – SERV (Service by Emergency Rider Volunteers) bikers delivering emergency supplies of blood to hospitals can ride with peace of mind, thanks to support from leading specialist motorcycle insurance broker, Devitt. The Blood Runners from charity SERV deliver blood products to the emergency and accident hospitals across Southern England at night, when official Health Service transportation services do not operate.
Devitt is lending its support to SERV's dedicated volunteer motorcycle riders by arranging a year's free full comprehensive insurance cover for the charity's newest recruit, a £6,000 Honda Deauville motorcycle used by SERV riders.
Martin Pretlove, Managing Director (at the time) of Devitt said they are proud to support such an excellent service: "SERV supplies a safe, quick and reliable service to local hospitals and doctors for the transport of emergency blood, medical equipment, drugs and even donor organs. "The riders are all willing volunteers who have used their own vehicles and pay for their own petrol in order to help others who need emergency supplies," he said. "We commend the fantastic service that the volunteers of SERV provide and we hope that others will add their support and enable them to help save more lives."
