Naked Motorbike Insurance overview

Naked Bikes are becoming increasingly popular in the UK, regularly featuring in the MCIA’s new motorcycle registration by style statistics. They’re often defined by the fact that they have no windscreen, (usually) an upright seating position and no plastic body panels (fairings) so they’re in a sense ‘naked’.

Naked motorcycles are a type of custom bike and sit around the same category as ‘street-fighters’ ‘choppers’  ‘café-racers’. If you’ve been a biker for some time, you might refer to them as ‘Bobbers’ which were meant to have originated back in the 1940s; when ex-military motorbikes were stripped back to reduce weight and cost by mechanically-minded returning servicemen.

So what does this ‘engine on two wheels’ mean for a naked motorbike owner? They’re small, so they filter well in traffic. They’re light, so they don’t guzzle fuel. They’re stripped back, so you don’t have to purchase pricey plastic – plus they’re nippy and handle well.

If you’re a no-frills kind of biker, who likes the wind in your face, then perhaps a naked bike could be for you – if you’re already sold and you need insurance for your naked motorbike then let us provide you with quote today!
